What is SOFA?

SOFA is a nationwide 501(c)3 Non-Profit Educational Speakers Bureau founded in 1993. Our mission is to end financial illiteracy across America, one community at a time. As a Public Benefit Corporation, we are comprised of various financial professionals who volunteer a Pro Bono service to the community by providing various financial topics to companies, churches, and organizations in their geographic locale.
Our Members are professionals such as Financial Advisors, Estate Planning Attorneys, Accountants, Realtors, Mortgage Brokers, Credit Counselors and Health & Wellness Practitioners.
DO PEOPLE PLAN TO FAIL? OF COURSE NOT….
BUT THEY DO FAIL TO PLAN.
A recent Fidelity Investments survey said 55% of American adults won’t be able to cover estimated ESSENTIAL living expenses – like food, housing, transportation and health care – in retirement. This means retirement will be a struggle for 135 million retirees.
That’s why SOFA, the Society for Financial Awareness, was formed nearly 25 years ago. It’s a non-profit organization dedicated to ending financial illiteracy.
SOFA brings financial professionals of all kinds before you at no cost to answer your most important financial questions. No products are pitched. No companies are promoted. Education is delivered.
